IMP MAXIMIANVS P F AVG Laureate, helmeted, and cuirassed bust of Galerius to left, holding spear over his right shoulder and shield on his left. Rev. A beautiful coin of fine style with an impressive military bust type and a wonderful reverse. Somewhat rough, otherwise, about extremely fine.


This extremely rare hybrid issue combines an obverse of Galerius as Augustus with a reverse used for the Caesars Severus II (RIC 67a and 68a) and Maximinus Daia (RIC 67b and 68b).
